Abroad: Chiang Mai

    1. Interesting question. The hospital I’ve been to and like the most is Yonsei Hospital in Seoul. They have some new art work and lunch hour music recitals in the foyer.

There’s an area of Yonsei in the back that’s quite depressing.

I also went to the older St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul and it was rather institutional and ugly, though the private rooms had small couches and refrigerators.

I went to a health clinic in Guangzhou which was so gray and depressing. The waiting area couldn’t well accommodate people. It felt like being in a bad train station. I’ll try to get photos. Here are more images of Yonsei.

I do like the doctors’ offices in the U.S. that have adopted a homier look.

      1. Thanks for the reply and the flickr link. It would be great to see more of your photos on the subject.

Sounds like it’s better to get sick in Korea? Lunch hour recitals in hospitals…inspired. I agree that homier doctor’s offices are nice & comforting.
