Ho, ho, ho. This week’s prompt invites Sepia Saturday participants to sift through images looking for pictures that bring back Christmas past. Here’s what I’ve found.
First an audio treat. A holiday radio program “Cinnamon Bear” from 1937 is available here.

Christmas cards are so welcome. The real thing beats ecards, which I have sent, any day.

Look at the toys. Simple yet beautiful still. Batteries not needed.

I’ve never seen a scene like this one above, though I’ve been to San Antonio’s Gran Posada.

Reblogged this on Ruined for Life: Phoenix Edition and commented:
Lots of fun Christmas images.
Your pictures capture everything that says “Christmas” – the fun, the holy, the melancholy, and most of all the anticipation. Merry Christmas!
Nice old images of Christmases of long ago, thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!
The mailbag in the second picture is one of the most colorful and festive ones I’ve ever seen. The German hospital also looks kind of festive. But it doubt whether it is anywhere near the front line. No matter where it is, I wish you a Merry Christmas, Susan!
Beautiful images in this blog.
And I love the falling dots!
Thanks. WordPress offers ‘snow’ for the holidays to bloggers who want it.
A fine seasonal medley. My best wishes to you for the holidays!
Lovely photos with the nostalgic Christmas charm! thanks for sharing! Mine’s up, though a wee bit late. Happy Christmas!
That’s the first time I heard of the Cinnamon Bear. I think one episode is enough for me, though I would like to know how to degrow.
I’ve see the Geore Eastman photo before. No why do our Christmas posties not look like that any more; nothing makes orange fluorescent jackets look festive.
I love the postman — all those wonderful, colorful stamps! I’m with you — the real thing is much nicer than ecards.
